FOR ACCOUNTING PRACTICES

The BAS desk that never sleeps.

AI-run Xero reconciliation and activity statements for your clients — prepared continuously, at any scale, and lodged only on your sign-off.

Live since July 2026 — running every entity in our own group: cash and accruals GST, companies and trusts. We were our own first client.

What we take off your desk

A back-office desk that runs inside each client's Xero — and hands you a finished BAS to approve.

Reconcile

  • Continuous coding and matching in the client's own file
  • Bank lines tied to invoices, bills and journals
  • Exceptions queued as questions — never guessed

Prepare

  • Quarter-end BAS workpaper with every label tied to the ledger
  • Anomalies surfaced with proposed fixes
  • Revisions drafted when the history is wrong

Lodge

  • Only after your review and sign-off
  • Under your agent registration, through the channel you already use
  • Receipts and workpapers filed against the client

How it works

  1. STEP 1

    Connect

You (or your client) authorise a scoped Xero connection. No passwords change hands.

  2. STEP 2

    Reconcile

Transactions coded and matched continuously. Oddities become queued questions.

  3. STEP 3

    Draft the BAS

Workpaper built at quarter end — every label tied out to the ledger.

  4. STEP 4

    You approve

Review the pack, adjust or query anything, then sign off. Nothing moves without you.

    THE HUMAN GATE
  5. STEP 5

    Lodge

Lodged under your registration. Receipt and workpapers filed.

The whole design hangs on step 4: nothing posts, pays or lodges without a named human's approval — and approving takes minutes, not hours.

You keep the keys

Draft first

Nothing posts, pays or lodges from a draft without a named human's approval. You set the auto-code rules; everything else queues for you.

Agent of record

The ATO relationship, the declaration and the final say stay yours. We prepare under your supervision — a paraprofessional team, only faster.

Full audit trail

Every entry, journal and question is logged with its source and reasoning. Review it like a junior's file; export it any time.

Kill switch

Revoking the Xero connection takes one click, and access dies that second. No offboarding process, no data held hostage.

House rule since day one: unknown GST is never guessed — it becomes a question on your queue.

Real catches, from real books

Since July 2026 this desk has run every entity in our own group — the examples below are ours.

$160k

The hidden loan

A merchant-cash advance was repaying itself as a 23% withholding on card takings — the books only ever saw net payouts, understating revenue and GST. Found in week one; fixed with a reclass and a standing monthly gross-up journal.

2 quarters

BAS wrong both ways

One quarter over-declared ($10,756 that should have been $538); the next under-declared ($10,841 that should have been $13,966). Both revisions prepared — and lodged only after the taxpayer reviewed and signed the declarations.

$1.6m

The frozen trust

A ledger diagnostic surfaced $1.6m of balances unmoved in a year, a card feed dead for ten months and a 397-day-overdue receivable — its write-off drafted into the correct year, with no GST adjustment claimed (cash basis: none was owed).

One price: 10% of what you charge

No setup fees, no seats, no subscriptions. We earn only when you bill.

Per client — worked example

Bookkeeping you bill$450 / mo
BAS you bill$500 / qtr
Your fees per year$7,400
Our fee (10%)− $740
You keep$6,660

…for about an hour of review a quarter.

Your practice — 50 clients on the desk

Compliance fees billed$370,000
Staff cost today (≈2,200 hrs)− $143,000
Margin today$227,000 (61%)
With the desk: our fee + review time− $50,000
Margin with the desk$320,000 (86%)

+ $93,000 a year before you sell a single freed-up hour.

Illustrative: $65/hr loaded staff cost; 11 hrs → 1 hr per client per quarter. Plug in your own rates — the ratio is the point.

Fair questions, straight answers

“AI will guess and I'll wear it.”

It never guesses. Every entry traces to a bank line or a document; anything uncertain is coded conservatively and queued as a question. You review before anything is final.

“Where does my client's data go?”

Access is a scoped connection you authorise inside Xero — no passwords, no screen-scraping. Data is used to do the work, full stop: never pooled, resold or used for training. Revoke the connection and access ends instantly.

“Lodgment liability sits with me.”

Yes — that's the design. Nothing is lodged without your sign-off, you stay the registered agent, and the workpapers give you more evidence behind that signature than a junior ever handed you.

“You'll end up owning my client.”

We contract with you, white-label. Your brand on the pack, your name on the lodgment. Your client never needs to hear ours.

“What happens to my staff?”

The unfillable grunt work disappears; review and advisory stay. One senior can supervise three times the files — firms redeploy, they don't cut.

Start without risking anything

  1. 1

    Pick 3–5 files

Include your messiest. Diagnostics are where the desk shines — you'll see judgment, not just coding, in the first week.

  2. 2

    Run one cycle in parallel

We reconcile and draft the BAS alongside your normal process. Compare the packs line by line — your process still runs, so the risk is zero.

  3. 3

    Switch on

From the next quarter the desk runs and you review and approve. No lock-in, no minimums — leaving is revoking a connection.
